Grey and luna

Description

Here's another photoshopped picture of Greystar I've decided to add. I am also adding this little story, Its based a few weeks before episode 1 of FIM and Luna's attitude is a mixture of mostly Luna and a little nightmare moon peeking through and from the perspective of Greystar.

----------------------------------------------

I slowly stretched my sore wings and legs, It is officially not a good idea to sleep on a cloud when one is known to toss and turn in the night. Luckily to my delight it was finally night, I gave my wings and extra stretch and took off

The rush of the cool night air on my face never gets old. The soft twinkle of the stars as the dance across the night sky and circled around their queen, the moon. Only those who fly could truly know the beauty that the stars hold within them. To me they were always the most gentle and amazing expression of beauty, even as they are dying millions of miles away, they give their ultimate gift of beauty.
I always do my best flying at night, unlike the normal Pegasus, I see better in the night than the day. I am always curious how any pony could see with such a bright star in the sky, heck it could hurt one's eye sight if you stared at it. I would think most ponies would consider that.

Well, only so much thinking can be done when there is a job to do. It was my job to get some of the more tricky clouds to the right areas so that the weather team can give us a charming little storm of death for the next day. Note to self, never do a favor for Ditzy Doo again.

The night slowly dragged on while the good friend Greystar did the boring job of moving clouds from mountains, volcanoes and the other lovely places every pony wishes to visit while in Equestria.

As the night dwindled on I finally got to my last cloud, which hovered over a gentle lake. The water gently rippled through the lake leaving a crystal clear view of the sky and, if one dared get close enough to the water they could see the smooth stones at the bottom of the lake. It appeared as if the only thing stopping a pony was a thin sheet of glass. As I came closer to the cloud my wings felt like they deserved a nice little break, and who would I be to deny them. My wings gave me the last few pumps needed to climb on top of the cloud. I circled a few times to find the perfect spot and then happily plopped down.

Out of the darkness I heard a voice whisper..."who are you?"
"Wh-what? Where are you?" I asked as I crawled to the edge of the cloud, scanning the ground below. One, then two minutes passed by with no response. "Great,” I thought, “the first sign of insanity.”

"You never answered my question, who are you?" the darkness spoke again. Great, more crazy voices. "Who wants to know?" I asked, eyes rolling. "The mare in the moon" said the gentle but interested voice, "it has been a while since someone last came here." "Well that’s nice are you friends with bigfoot as well?" I said in annoyance "and, to answer your question Greystar of the great and awesome family of the Silvertails. Grey to my elders, Star to my friends. Silvertails is an reference to the grey tail of a comet, har har har." my head moving a different directions with each of the hars.

"The Silvertails? Like the ones who check the stars to make sure they are in the right place" the voice said with surprise happiness." “Yes, honors that will pass to me in a few years, those stars don’t check themselves." I said with a proud smile. "But for now I'm just the helpful cloud mover, but don't they check the stars in the early morning or late afternoon?" she asked a little confused. "Sheesh for a voice in my head you really don’t know that much about me," I said with a little giggle, if I was going insane I might as well enjoy it.

"You are not crazy, from what I can tell, my sister just made this place to taunt me from the Earth.” she said in an angered voice. Instantly, it got colder and colder. I suddenly felt bad, what if the old mares tales were true, she could just be lonely this lake was in the middle of a giant forest, ponies would rarely come here during the day and probably never at night. Well, even if I was crazy, I should be polite.

"I'm sorry, but yes most of the time they do." I said politely bowing my head and looking directly at the moon, since it didn't have much on an eye. "So why are you awake at this hour?" the voice said still old and icy but becoming softer. "Because the night is just so beautiful, of course," I said with a gentle voice. "You- you really think so?" the voice was young a gentle again. I smiled "of course, It gets lonely every now and then, but then we have the stars to keep us company," the voice was quite. "Yes, yes it is" she said in a quite whisper.

As we talked the birds was starting to sing there gentle song. "I'm sorry, I need to go. I had a wonderful time, please have a good day" I said as I stretched my wings and took off. I circled around to grab the cloud that I forgot after I started talking to the voice in the darkness. "Wait! Wait! Can you come back, soon pl-please?" the voice was sad and urgent. I blinked a few times in surprise but then smiled, "Why not? You can never have too many friends," I said as I pushed the cloud away "YAY. Then see you soon." I could hear a happy smile in her voice. "Bye" I yelled back as I shot away with the cloud in front of me. The journey home took a few minutes and when I got there Ditzy Doo met me with her goofy smile, "thanks for your help, I made you some muffins to say thanks" she said with a guilty smile. "I'm good girl, I had a long night and need some major zzzz's, but you still owe me." I joked winking at her as I flew away. I was going to have to crash at Windson’s, if I didn't want to drown in my sleep.

As I started to drift off to sleep I pondered the thought of telling others about my night with the Mare in the Moon. “Should I tell them about her,” I wondered to myself. “If I do I may as well tell them I had a midnight snack with Bigfoot too,” and I gave a sleepy giggle as I lost myself to a dream.
